Dr. Nahida Nayaz Ahmed
Dr. Nahida Nayaz Ahmed is an American board-certified Emirati Consultant Psychiatrist who serves as the Chief Medical Officer of SEHA Mental Health & Well-being Services. She graduated with a Psychiatry residency from Tufts University-affiliated St Elizabeth Medical Centre and obtained a CL Fellowship from Harvard University-affiliated Cambridge Health Alliance, Boston. She continues to play a lead role in mental health reforms, spearheading several initiatives across different sectors. She is an International Associate of the Royal College of Psychiatry, UK, and is a Certified Physician Executive (CPE).
Dr. Ahmed is an Adjunct Associate Professor at the College of Medicine and Health Sciences, UAE University, and an Associate Lecturer at Khalifa University. She has led the mental health integration of the Primary Health Network to increase access and ease the stigma towards mental illness treatment. She spearheaded several mental health initiatives across the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, UAE. Dr. Ahmed has several publications authored guidelines and policies in support of Mental health transformations. She is a notable speaker on national and international platforms, an avid reader, a travel enthusiast, a mother to three exceptional children, and a spouse to a distinguished Transplant Nephrologist.
