Dr. Waqar Gaba
With over 20 years of experience, Dr. Waqar Gaba graduated from King Edward Medical College, Lahore, Pakistan. He trained in London, U.K., and completed Acute Medicine Registrar training in Yorkshire, U.K., later earning a Stroke Fellowship from King’s College, London, and St Thomas’s Hospital. Dr. Gaba holds CCT in Acute Medicine, Internal Medicine, and Stroke Medicine.
As a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians Edinburgh and the American College of Physicians, Dr. Gaba is an MRCP UK and MRCP Ireland Examiner. He has academic roles with King’s College, London, the University of Leeds, and UAE and Khalifa Universities. Dr. Gaba, recognized for his simulation expertise, has a certificate from the Centre for Medical Simulation affiliated with Harvard Medical School.
Formerly a Consultant Physician in Bradford, U.K., he's currently an Internal Medicine Consultant at SKMC, Abu Dhabi, serving as Stroke Lead and Program Director for Internal Medicine Residency. Dr. Gaba, a COVID-19 Frontline Hero, received the highest published faculty prize and the Orange Code Recognition award. His interests in atrial fibrillation, VTE, medical education, and clinical simulation are reflected in 30+ publications and numerous conference presentations.
