Mazen Malkawi is the Regional Advisor on Environmental Health at the WHO Eastern Mediterranean Region Office. With an M.Sc. in Water Resources and Environmental Engineering, he began his career as a Hydrologist and Monitoring Engineer. In his current role, Malkawi manages programs focusing on climate change, air pollution, chemical safety, and the Arab Strategy and Framework of Action on Environmental Health.
Actively involved in international committees, he contributes to updating guidance on environmental health. Malkawi's extensive experience includes over 200 international meetings and the publication of 21 articles and chapters.
