Dr. Alvin Bronstein

President, America's Poison Centers, United States

Dr. Bronstein is the President of America’s Poison Centers, representing the 54 US poison centers.
He is an assistant Medical Director, Louisiana Poison Center, Louisiana Health Sciences,
Shreveport, Louisiana. Most recently (2015 -2024), he was the EMS & Injury Prevention Section
Branch Chief, Hawaii Department of Health. Prior to this position for 15 years, he was the Medical
Director of the Rocky Mountain Poison Center (RMPC). He is chair of the National Poison Data
System (NPDS) development group and Chair of the NPDS Toxicosurveillance Team. Dr. Bronstein
has authored multiple articles and book chapters in the field of medical toxicology and written
several textbooks on hazardous materials. His research interests include new methods to deliver
and analyze poison information.
