Dr. Ruben Thanacoody

Director, National Poisons Information Service (Newcastle unit) and UK Teratology Information Service (UKTIS) Medical Director, Regional Drugs and Therapeutics Centre

Dr. Ruben Thanacoody is a Consultant in General Medicine and Clinical Pharmacology at Royal Victoria Infirmary, Newcastle-upon-Tyne since April 2009, and an Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer at Newcastle University. He has been the Director of the National Poisons Information Service (Newcastle unit) and UK Teratology Information Service, as well as the Medical Director of the Regional Drugs and Therapeutics Centre since September 2019. His credentials include Membership of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP, UK), Fellowships with the Royal Colleges of Physicians in Edinburgh and London, and memberships in the European Association of Poisons Centres and Clinical Toxicologists and the British Pharmacological Society.
