Dr. Alrougi is the Director of the Chemical and Drug Safety Program at the Ministry of Health in
Saudi Arabia, with expertise in environmental health, chemical risk assessment, health and safety
legislation and epidemiological methods.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in medicine and surgery from King Abdulaziz University and a
diploma in field epidemiology from King Saud University.
Dr. Alrougi is a member in many national and international committees and also serves as the WHO
focal point in Saudi Arabia for global chemical and health network and chemical risk assessment
network.
He is passionate about enhancing public health and safety through evidence-bases and innovative
solutions.
