Dr. Hanane Chaoui
Hanane Chaoui is a medical doctor and holds a PhD in Epidemiology. She joined the Moroccan National Poison Control and Pharmacovigilance Center in 2009, where she serves as a Toxicological Information Specialist and Head of the Toxicovigilance Department. She is also responsible for signal detection activities in Toxicovigilance and managing databases on poisoning cases involving psychoactive substances and heavy metals.
She has organized numerous national scientific workshops on chemical risks and Toxicovigilance systems. She was a member of the organizing and scientific committees of the International Congress of Toxicology in 2016, 2018, 2022, and 2024, as well as the organizing committee for the National Pharmacovigilance Congress in 2023 and 2024.
She serves as the Secretary-General of AMSETOX (Moroccan Association for Environmental Health and Toxicovigilance) and Vice-President of the Moroccan Society of Clinical and Analytical Toxicology (SMTCA).
In terms of project development and management, she has been involved in initiatives such as the elimination of lead in paints in Morocco, the assessment of lead levels in the Mediouna province, and a CNRST (National Center for Scientific and Technical Research) project on health vigilance systems.
She is the Deputy Editor of the journal Toxicologie Maroc and has supervised several graduate theses in Pharmacovigilance and Toxicovigilance. Additionally, she is a trainer in Pharmacovigilance at the Rabat Collaborating Center and leads an Epidemiology course at ISPITS-Rabat (Higher Institute of Nursing and Health Techniques).
