Richard Wootton is the Team Lead of Health Canada's
Surveillance and Analytics Section (SAS) within the Chemical Emergency
Management and Toxicovigilance Division (ChEMTD). He manages a team of
epidemiologist and advisors in the development of a toxicovigilance program.
This includes the Canadian Surveillance System for Poison Information, and
working multilaterally with Canadian Poison Centres, Provincial, Territorial
and Federal partners to support access to expertise and timely real-world evidence on poisonings.
This work supports developing effective public health, regulatory, health security and mental health
interventions and policies.
