Dr. Wax, who lives in Phoenix Arizona, USA, has been the Executive Director of the American
College of Medical Toxicology (ACMT) since 2008 and is currently an Adjunct Professor of
Emergency Medicine (Medical Toxicology) at UT Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, TX. Dr
Wax received his B.A from Dartmouth College, his M.D. from the Ichan School of Medicine in New
York City. Dr. Wax completed an Emergency Medicine residency at UCLA, and a Medical
Toxicology fellowship at New York University. In 2019 Dr. Wax received the Career Achievement
Award in Medical Toxicology from ACMT. In 2010 Dr Wax co-founded ACMT’s Toxicology
Investigators Consortium, known as ToxIC. A multicenter research consortium, ToxIC currently
receives funding from FDA, CDC, NIH.
